There is no notice about our post & reply

Sorry, I'm beginner here. I want to ask something about a system in this forum. Why there is no feed or notice that can help us to check someone who replies & quote our post? I think it will very helpful.

I think it's completely redundant, since there's an option to show new replies to your posts. Why would you single out quoted posts? Often people will reply to your post in a given thread without quoting it.

I think it'll get too messy if there are notifications for every post of yours being quoted by someone. Although I feel it would be nice to have a notification system for mentions in any thread. For example if I write someone's username followed by @ in my post, they should get a notification for that, just like Twitter.

Take a look up, there is a button right under Hello evilsign  "Show new replies to your posts". Maybe this function work not as well as you would like to, cause of it shows all possible replies which were made after your comment. But you can check it from time to time and search for quotes and replies for your comment.

I think this is a quite important factor, there's 100s of megathreads where if you reply once, you'll keep receiving 100s of replies and notifications.

I believe i've asked/looked for this feature before ( being noticed when you are being quoted by someone), and if i recall correctly this was something that was going to be added in the new forum software, hence why we don't have it as of right now, ( why double develop something ? ( waste of time and resources))

When you make a reply, there is a link to open additional options. One of these is to notify me of replies. I have never ticked this, but I have for this post, so I will see if it works. I leave the box for watch this topic permanently ticked, but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Start posting in some mega spam thread which is created by shitposter to be used by their shitposter gangs to increase post counts. What you will notice is non-sense garbage posts (and not to mention some copy-pasters) which will clog the replies and change the last page number from 2 to 20 in a few hours.

A workaround that I can suggest  - "Show new replies to your posts" use that link to keep track of those threads where meaningful discussion is going on. Then click those to check as and when necessary and "Mark all as unread" inside the "Unread Replies" page to clear the rest of the posts in that page.

Also you can "watch" a thread/board.

I will do same things like what you've done. I don't like to get a notice by email. It's spam for me. But it depends how important is this.Thank you, now I know the reason why there is no notice when someone quoted our post and reply. I accustomed to a site which informs when someone gives response and attention to us. And yes I still unfamiliar with GUI this forum.
