Hey guys,

I would like to preface by saying I am using ccminer alexis on X17 with SMos and from my skim of the readme I did not see a max fan speed option. If I am wrong you can stop reading and comment the command and it would be much appreciated.

As the title says I have 1 rig that is running all MSI 1070 ti cards twin frozr if it matters and the card temps are great, some as low as 49c with my target temp at 65c but my lowest fan speed is still 89%. I haven't used this miner or algo before and just recently started mining it and have since run into this problem. I just bought these cards in the past week and they were running fine on equihash before this.

Really just running out of ideas for keywords to google as most of the things I am googling bring up fan life expectancy debates.

Should I plug in an SSD with windows and run afterburner for more insight into what might be happening?

Thanks in advance

I don't have any experience in ccminer, but I manage all my fan curves through Afterburner with a custom fan curve. That said your fan speed is indeed abnormal and I would check ccminer options.

Thank you for your response

I have gone through tpruvot, 2.2.5 RVN, and all of the top google options for alexis but none of the readme's for alexis were the exact version I had. That said none of them had fan speed under the command line interface sections and I did a quick CTRL-F of the word "fan" and while I did get results none of them were max fan speed settings.

I then went to the MSI forums to look for help and found this in their stickied FAQ

Q2:
"I bought MSI [model] graphics card but fans are running even if the temperature is much below 60C. What am I doing wrong?"

A2:
This feature, known as "Zero Frozr", is only available on Gaming series graphics cards. What this means, is that if your graphics card model does not have "Gaming" on the box, then fans will run at around 20-25% as the minimum.
Right now only Nvidia GTX900 series and AMD R9 300 series from MSI GAMING series have this feature which have 'Twin Frozr V' cooler.

I then went and checked and my model of card in fact has the "Zero Frozr" cooler not the "Twin Frozr" like I previously said

Does anyone know of a work around to get these fan speeds down or should I just send back the cards and buy ones without this cooler?

Edit: I don't really want to mine on windows as it is a 12 card rig.
