Rural bitcoiners, I need your help with my project!

Hello!

I have a very long term project, that in short, is emulate a feudal area (not because it is sexy or anything, I have my reasons), ie: have a big farm, guarantee the farm is good enough to feed my family, and have some profits, and eventually build my own town, market, etc... Ie: take care of a good community.


The problem is: I am no farmer... I never been for more than one short half day visit in a farm, and although I have lots of farmer ancestors, I don't want to talk to them (they are not much... honest... also they managed to lose most of their lands to the government, now those lands are subject of a stupid war, lots of people die because of them).

I think my project would have a good start in buying a smallish farm, having some family agriculture style stuff, and use my tech skills to have some profits and expand (for example, by building a commercial hydroponic farm)

But beside that, I don't know jack shit, I don't know how people buy (or acquire without buying... here in Brazil seemly 60% of the farms were "conquered" not bought) lands, I don't know how to choose my lands, what criteria to use and why, I don't know how to find the land that I want, I don't know how to work the land...

So, anyone can give me some advice? It would be really great if the advice start in what criteria I should have to choose my land.

Have a look at the Open Source Ecology Project.  I would say that how you work the land depends on what you want to grow, and at what scale.  How you choose the land to buy depends on what kind of money you have, and also what you want to grow.  The one piece of advice that you can't go wrong with is to have lots of available water.  You should consider permaculture as well, or perhaps a niche crop that is in demand.  But if you have relatives who are already growing, maybe you should start out by investing in their operations.

I have relatives but I don't want to get much near them... They scammed my father out of his lands, and have some ties with some certain politicians here that although win elections I would never vote on them for very good reasons (and those reasons are not political or ideological differences)
