I happen to know for a fact that there are 4 high volume sellers in the Chicago area that are active on localbitcoins.  They all offer competitive prices, and some of them will meet up with you within an hour of receiving a contact.

I think I've only engaged in a total of 2 transactions north of Interstate 290, and neither of them had enough experience or knowledge about bitcoins to have a 742 Activity here.
