Major reason which i think is Quality of education. Most of the institute don'e provide proper education which leads to failure in interviews.

What i feel is, it's not about Engineering,Commerce or any other course..

What matters the most is, did you gain some knowledge beyond the Syllabus of your course?
Did you really understand the practical concept of what you studied in your course or you just by-heart the theory part of it to clear the exams and gain a certificate?

If you really earned some good knowledge and your clear with the practical concepts, then trust me, you cannot fall under the category of Unemployed.

Your either working somewhere, else your Self Employed and earning good.
That's the way, i think it is..

There is a misconception in the mind of many people that, your Unemployed if your not hired at a company, remove that concept from your mind..
As long as you got some talent, you could do any job..
You can start a business of your own with the Skillset you have or you could even do a Work From Home till the time your searching job..
