Here are the complete specs of my laptop. I have used the guiminer with slushes pool and it would seem the fastest I get is 1MHs and since the difficulty of bitcoin is extremely high I thought of mining BQC but can't seem to figure out how to do so. If someone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

At 1 MH/s it's only going to take you an average of 56000 years to find a block, so I don't really see a problem here.

EDIT: Wait, that was at last weeks difficulty. So more like 70000 years now.

http://dustcoin.com/ what about bbq coins? As its difficulty is at .329 Is there anything I can mine? If not what would a quad core computer do with a Radeon 4400 or something like that?

I have a similar labtop and I am using it to mine goldcoin. I get around 1 an hr (YMMV) so its not a lost cause but make sure you have plenty of ventilation or you will end up breaking it.

I didn't see gold coins in the cryptocoin mining information page. So could you give the difficulty for it and stuff? Also I was wondering more about BBQ coins as they are the least amount of difficulty and the information said I would get about 107 coins per hour with 1MHs.

Yes you can mine with your laptop but you are better off using Litecoins because it was designed to make FPGAs and ASICs hard to build.

If you want to mine Bitcoin you will need to buy some kind of USB ASIC to plug in the USB ports. (BitFury, NanoFury, Block Eruptors, Jalapeño etc.)

If you insist on mining with your laptop, you're better off mining a CPU only coin, such as primecoin. If you do this, be sure and keep your laptop cool, because it's going to get very hot.

GoldCoin is new. its around 1.5 diff right now. I use goldcoinfor.me and I avg a coin an hour. Its worth your time. The Developer MicroGuy is responsive and seems very receptive to new people and answering basic questions.  You can check out the thread here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=317568
