To keep your anonymity the best choice you have is to start a new account. As others have stated you would have to donate 10 BTC in order to be able to do so.

If, what you're saying on these forums, will result in governmental blowback or perhaps losing a job then you absolutely must protect yourself and open an new account. (Don't use meepmeep as this post will link the two usernames together.)

If you want to change your username for marketing reasons -- ahhh, that's another story. You need to decide that.

This is very expensive my friend. Why you should change your name? When you create your username you don't think it carefully? Lol whatever it is 5BTC is so expensive for username only. You should be contented on what you created unless you are a billionaire.

Just forget about this account (as it is a Jr. Member, you will not lose anything) and create a new one with the nickname you need.
It will be the easiest and the cheapest solution.

You can not change your username unless you donate some BTC. you can forget about this account and register a new one and start using that one but you will loose all your activity points and merits if you have any.

I think you can change or choose your won username 2 way.

1.firstly you can open a new account but this account not possible (If theymos does not want to).
2. You can change your username but need Donate BTC50 BTC (https://bitcointalk.org/donate.html).
because  total system control by theymos so needs first contact theymos than Donate. or removed your dream.

Ha ha ha, Lol answer. Really this is the very interesting answer. I think this is not possible to donate 50BTC for changing username. Lol.

However, this is not possible to change Bitcointalk username. What is the problem with currency username? If you don't like this username so you should leave this account and create another account. But this is not legal to use multiple accounts. That is against of the forum policy. If you have more than one account, you will definitely get banned. ‍So be careful

Back in the old days, you could donate 10BTC to become a Donator or 50BTC to become a VIP member. Bitcoin was worth way less than it is today, and this amount of BTC was only worth 1 month of hosting for the forum. The price is still the same because it would be unfair for the old Donators/VIP's that paid that amount of BTC back in those days.

And... Theymos (the forum admin) has more things to do than change usernames. That's why he usually doesn't accept this requests, unless...

a. You donate that big amount of money;
b. Have a very good reason;
c. He has time left and recognizes your name from somewhere else (i.e what he did with an old member that had talked to him to get verified in a subreddit);

That's what I thought.  I too wanted to change my Username, but I didn't think it was possible.  Now reading all the posts above, I know now that it is possible but very costly, so I should just forget about it.
