Alts can be stored on ledger Nano S

All ERC20 tokens are compatible with Ledger via MyEtherWallet. This is not new or unique in any way. Additionally, if they are launching their own blockchain in the future, it is highly unlikely that it will be supported by Ledger until months down the line, if at all.
