Hi everyone,

I'm a little concerned by the fact that I can't delete my BTC-e account.
I've never ran into a situation like this before where a website administrator refused to delete a personal account.
I'm done with bitcoin, I've already given, donated or spent the last of my bitcoin.

I have a very small amount of bitcoin left on the account. It's not even enough to cover the transaction fee.

I've never ran into this situation before and I don't really know what to do next?

Why do you want to delete your account?  Huh
Anyway, there is nothing you can do if the btc-e admin refused to delete your account.

Just a friendly reminder, you can't delete your bitcointalk account as well Tongue

I wouldn't worry too much about trying to fully delete your account.

I have a BTC-e account and if I wanted to leave I would - there is no personal information on there except name.

You have nothing to win if you delete your account,. But I kinda understand the admin.. Let's say in case that the feds knock his door and ask him the IPs from that account.. I was reading on gox's privacy policy once that after you delete your account, they are obligated by law to store your account movements, IPs, bank accounts etc and all info of your account for the next 5 years, in case an official asks for it.

So I think that's the case Wink

And why do you want to delete the account? They don't charge you any BTC's as far as I know (and you aren't interested in anything left on your balance anyway). and they just have your e-mails and no sensitive documents for verification like other exchangers.

If the admin refuse to delete your account there's nothing you can do except to leave your account alone.

I kinda figured the website couldn't remove my account for some legal reason or another.

My time at BTC-e was excellent.
I never had any problems. Until I couldn't delete my account, of course.
I just figured since I wasn't going to be using bitcoin anymore that I didn't need the account.

I shut down my localbitcoin account no problem.
