Im trying to setup a scrypt miner with a 5870 card on Ubuntu. As we know, for best performance we should use a catalyst driver older than 11.12 with sdk 2.4/2.5. However it seems that we cannot download catalyst drivers older than 12.1 anymore!

Anyone know how to work around this? Surely some copies of 11.12/11.9/11.6 64 bit Linux drivers should be out there...?

download-page for catalyst v 11.12 with 2.6 sdk (both 64b and 32b available)

i thought 12.4 with sdk 2.7 should be fine as well, no?
and do you know if 64b mining-performance is indeed better than under a 32bit system?

cheers,
pm

EDIT: err- hold on, that seems to be only the sdk... but what about dl-ing it from x-drivers (i hate 3rd party driver sites but well...)?
