I am just curious about what was the creator of bitcoin thinking, did he knew that his creation will one day gain that much popularity and it will become an income source for many individuals?

And what is the purpose of bitcoin?

I think it was created for a greater purpose that Government has failed to provide us.
What do you think?

If the whitepaper wasn't enough, I suggest reading this article: https://medium.com/founder-playbook/a-quick-reminder-why-bitcoin-was-invented-in-the-first-place-f9ae7430bc17

The reason why the creator of bitcoin Satoshi Nakamoto created bitcoin  is because he wanted to create a revolutionary decentralized currency. A revolution against the unfair  and enslaving practice of the banking system. Well the creator created it for the masses to use so he already know that if successful bitcoin will be used by the masses.
