The site is not down, been up and live without any interruptions in the past few days - that's for sure.
You can easily withdraw XRP, use Changelly to convert them to Bitcoin if you trust Bitcoin more than Ripple XRP.

The free Ripple offer is over I guess, I created an account but was clueless on where to get the free bonus. Thread was made 2 months ago, so probably the site is no more in Beta and the bonus is over. Sad

The site has a HTTPS (SSL) certificate, it is secured, you do not provide any sensitive data and when you sign up no one can change your email or withdraw "on your behalf" without confirming it via email.
