I have read somewhere that this price spike was in fact by some April Fool's day joke.

With that in mind investors took their time into investment thus price rise suddently ($20.000 investment). Everyone saw that and followed the trend.

If it was from the joke itself we can not be certain but it really might had some influences.

I don't think that the latest trend of bitcoin is coming from this april fools joke. But I do really believe that april fool joke help bitcoin to know by other investors. Investors also see that they will really regret if that april fools day joke really happen.
