Hi everyone. I'm going to buy a new graphic card to add to my 7950 to do some altcoin mining and gaming. I was thinking in buying a 7950 Sapphire Dual-X Boost Ed. to match my other GPU that i already have. Then i saw an XFX 7970 Double Dissipation for the same price as the 7950, actually, it's cheaper. What would you guys recommend me to to, go with the 7950 or the XFX 7970? Thanks a lot Smiley

Hi
There is not much different between them as long as you:
1. OC (overclock) them.
2. pre install the right SDK + CATALYST versions and use the right miner application script.

I have Gigabyte 7970 OC and reaches 740Kh/s.
In the other hand, the 7950 is cheaper.
Good Luck

Yeah, i know.. the only reason i'm unsure is because it is an XFX 7970.. i heard that they can give a lot of problems, and low hashrate for no reason; i'd like to be sure that it can work at least like a 7950 (the one i have actually goes up to 700kh/s)

Have You considered using R9 280x? Their price seems to be fair aswell.

I considered it already, but there is a difference of around 60€ from the 7950 (and, in this case, the 7970) and the R9 280x, where i live.

I don't know where these rumors of poor performing XFX cards are coming from. I have two XFX 7970's that do 788 each and two XFX 290x that do 880 each.

I also have two HIS 7970's and one will do 750 and the other will do 530 no matter what I do. Are all HIS cards crap ? No of course not.
