Always but straight from the actual company as any intermediary opens up risk of interference with the hardware wallet, which could completely undermine the security of the device. If someone is able to gain access to your device before you open they could activate it, and note the seed words rendering the device useless as they could gain your private keys from the seed. I have heard of this from Trezor and Ledger where people didnt know that the seed is not under a scratch card or pre-printed.
I've also heard that ledgers can have their hardware altered which means that they are no longer secure and are just a disaster waiting to happen. Buy straight from Trezor keepkey ledger etc and pay for the piece of mind if it is more expensive.
