Are Protoshares worth the trouble?

There's obviously no point in trying to mine Bitcoins at this point. Do any of you have any experience with Protoshares? Are they worth the effort? Are they a scam?

Yep, the difficulty became too high 2 days ago and it's almost not worth the trouble.

However you can mine them and trade for BTC or hold. You can sell at bter.com

I currently have 0.02539 PTS from the beeeeer.org pool. That's in a couple of days. I'd  have to reach 0.33 to even collect.
