Hi all,

Something has been bugging me quite a bit, and I can't seem to find a direct answer to my questions.

1. When creating a launch batch file for cgminer, can anyone tell me what the difference is between using either of the following options:

-O *username*:*password*
-u *username* -p *password*

They both seem the same to me, and just a matter of choice, but I just want to be sure.

2. Do I NEED a .conf file for the wallet that I'm using to receive payments?  Is that not handled by the launch options?  If so, can someone explain how it ties to my miner?  Also, is there any other significance of the username/password in this file aside from providing JSON-RPC protection?

Forced to post before posting in the thread I really want to hop into on top of having to wait 4 hours, and no one seems to have an answer to my questions.  This was really worth my time.
