I know how important it is for members to make high quality posts to earn merit. Many will disagree with my idea, but what I noticed lately is there is a lot of Members and above that don't have any basic knowledge of topics they post in.

What do you think about a crypto currency basics test for ranking up? It could be adapted to the rank level you wish to receive. The test should be an addition to the gained merits.

This would help to prevent people ranking up based on connections and bare luck. Plus it would raise awareness and knowledge among the members. We are all here to learn aren't we? So why not put our knowledge to the test and justify our rank. Knowledge will raise the quality of posts.

That is such a great idea.. not.. you do know that we are online, any Pajeet can type a question into google then answer it.

This won't work because mostly google already have the answers for every question you ask. The merit system is already enough to test whether you have knowledge or not because if you post only shit and junk then you won't deserve to rank up.

They would still have to read what they will copy if they want to give the right answer. I didn't say they have to learn word by word. It's enough if they read through.

Because they are "forced" to post. Not that they "want" to post. It shows their shitposting attitude and thus the never-ending spam of this forum.

This was suggested a few threads back and I am sorry to say they people did not like it. You are beating a dead horse. Knowledge about crypto is needed but then what is a forum for? It is for discussions and questions that arise in people's minds. We dont expect people here to be knowing everything about crypto and visiting it. Rather its the opposite.

This would be a nice idea but I think this wouldn't be added as for the reason Merit System is just suitable as it is for quality posters, and nevertheless it would create such commotion if the test is only repeatable for some certain ranks. Then most of the alt accounts will be easily pass on this kind of test as they knew what it will be like because they already did this once. Merits are enough as I thought about it, More or Less the difference between now and then are now having quite big.

While I agree that @TMAN should judge you on the merits of your idea, I also think your post history is fair game because it provides important clues as to whether you are capable of making reasoned arguments, are just trolling for the lulz, or are churning out shitposts to meet your bounty quotas.

Unfortunately, a post history full of bounty campaign updates, off-topic subjects (e.g. - abortion?! WTF, this is a cryptocurrency forum!) as well as total shitposts like this -

Digital currencies are the currency of the future no matter what's the state of the existing market now. Because of the volatility they face, stable coins are being created and they just might be the currencies of the future I believe.

This is a forum not an educational institute   The reason people (most not all) want to rank up in this forum is to participate in the bounty programs to earn some extra money. I believe recently, before introducing the merit system spammers (most of these bounty hunters) were out of control because to rank up that time only the activities were counted. So to find a solution theymos came up with the merit idea which will be awarded for high quality posts.

Sure the merit system may not be the best idea ever  implemented but it dramatically dropped the spammy posts. So overall merit is doing fine. Making this forum an education institute is a bad idea.
