Since I've started BTC mining in the last month, I've seen the price of a BTC 4x on me as well as the equipment used to mine it. Most of us know that buying anything other the bigger models from Hashfast or Cointerra, you're not going to see a return on investment. Getting your hands on mining equipment is hard to do as they either sell out quick, shady dealers (as I've already found out), or go for an arm and a leg on ebay.

I guess I'm reminded of an article I read, you know who got rich off the gold rush? It wasn't the ones mining the gold, it was the guy selling the pickaxes.

Thoughts?

I'd guess it has a lower variance on potential returns.  Both are tied to future difficulty, but with selling equip there is always a greater fool surfing ebay for you to sell off some mining rigs to.

And you can always mine with the gear as an alternative if the prices arent to your liking.

It is hard to make good profit with mining equipment, otherwise seller would mine himself instead. But if BTC price rises and mining equipment gets bit cheaper, I wil buy some miner
