Follow this guide https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1526215.0
Flashing latest firmware is the only way that i know to solve this issue.. I heard the same issue before in antminer s5 and solved after reflash in latest firmware..
Maybe your firmware is corrupted that is why no overview..

I can go to the tab for flashing, load the file to be flashed but after a minute or so the page will crash

Try this package and maybe it can solve your issue https://shop.bitmain.com/support.htm?pid=007201611260753443104jm60Q6L0639
And also this one for list of firmware https://shop.bitmain.com/support.htm?pid=00720161126080548570Q2tDBXAH065D

I heard that there is sd card flashing guide but i don't know how this works but here i found the tools and you can flash your unit without going to tab or page for flashing..
check here https://shop.bitmain.com/support.htm?pid=007201604120945219855QObfk20066C

Just remind you that be careful when flashing it can be hard brick the unit..  So Backup and wait for flashing to be finished before you restart your s9..

Have you tried the IP reporter hard reset?

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

Dumb question, but... Did you leave it for at least 10 minutes for it to start working?

Yea its been on for a while, it just running with the fault light on and no lights on the hashing boards, fan does speed up abit (once or twice with an the hour id say)

it does start up fine by the looks of it with the normal things going on, fans kicking in, lights flashing on the hashboards, green light flashes afew times.

Cant work it out must be soft bricked or something?

EDIT- oh yea no kernel log or monitor both blank pages  Huh

Did you tried to made an sdcard bootable for your s9?
I just found a tutorial but i don't know if it will work in antminer s9 because the guide given is for antminer s2 but you can get idea how he made a bootable sd card for antminer just use the firmware antminer s9 from bitmain link that i previously posted here https://support.myrig.com/hc/en-us/articles/204339655-How-to-create-a-bootable-MicroSD-card-with-factory-setting-

For safety i recommend to contact the bitmaintech support in order to help you out about your unit https://twitter.com/bitmaintech
Or contact the  bitmain support https://support.bitmain.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Just contact them if your unit is under warranty or if not you can also try and maybe they can give you flash tools to reflash the whole program of antminer s9..

Have you managed to fix this? If yes, how?  Huh

I tried upgrading the firmware, then tried the package fix and now the miner won't even show as online in the IP Scanner and the Fault (red) light is on.
