Pool Shares not matching Accepted Shares in CGMiner

Hi everyone!

My pool shares are not matching my Accepted shares in cgminer... is this normal?

Here is what the Pool seems to be telling me (1744 round shares) vs what cgminer is tellng me (5993 accepted shares):

This seems like the pool is giving me credit for almost exactly 1/3 of my shares -- but maybe I'm reading something wrong(?) I have searched this newbie forum for a definition of "PPLNS Shares", "Round Shares" and cgminer "Accepted Shares", but I have found a good definition yet :/
