For no specific reason, Black Friday seems like a good day to get rid of that pesky "Brand new" title... :)

People keep saying that it's a crucial thing to build up some reputation here if one's involved into the whole Bitcoin thing... and despite I usually couldn't care less about fora, this place just looks too central to be ignored completely... :D

Let's begin with a short story how I came to Bitcoin, so you can pretend to know something about me and I can feel like at home :)

Mid 2010 I first heared about Bitcoin and, as ignorant as I usually am, I forwarded that news to a friend of mine, who's analysing just about anything revolutionary... maybe September that same year I got a reply: "Bitcoin looks good to me", and thus I dug into it myself.  We introduced Bitcoin to our then local hackerspace, shackspace in Stuttgart, Germany, and annoyed a shitload of people with that topic. Later I got into mining for a short time... but mining was never profitable... ;)  Around the first bubble everyone tech-savvy around me mined, many ceased it, some still do.  Me being more a programmer I always dreamed to put together something useful for the Bitcoin community, but eventually I just toyed around a bit... :)

Nowadays I'm still around and Bitcoin still looks good to me, but I've yet build something useful... instead I push random crap^W^Wlots of awesome to GitHub and hang out on freenode.

If you happen to live in Berlin, then feel free to /query me any time!  Maybe we could grab a beer and talk about life, the universe and everything or just hack at random... :)

Now you know.
