What are some of your ideas for new businesses in the bitcoin industry? I am hoping to build a business with like-minded individuals that will help spread the usage of bitcoin worldwide.

A few of my ideas for potential Bitcoin Businesses:

-A real Bitcoin Wallet made out of leather with QR Codes on top and secret QR code inside. Can also store paper bitcoin money & coins.

-Bitcoin Vacations (Vacation in an area where bitcoins are accepted, shops, restaurants, housing, etc)

-Bitcoin Insurance agency, bitcoin life insurance agency

-Bitcoin financial products

-Bitcoin No lose lottery (promote savings & value in Bitcoin) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prize-Linked_Savings_Account

-Bitcoin Casino (Or more altruisticly adopted to be a 'No Lose Casino')

-Bitcoin financial derivatives exchange marketplace (Buy/Sell Calls/Puts, will help remove some volatility in Bitcoin price)

What are some of your skills, and which projects are you interested in working?

That's some interesting brainstorming!

I've also been wondering about potential business models around Bitcoin. I'm a programmer and interested in start-ups, and I'm surprised there's not more apps out there surrounding Bitcoin (only drug/gambling places and faucet sites).

Right now, it sounds like businesses that allow people simply to purchase Bitcoin are in need, but that's difficult for regulatory reasons. Coinbase and Bitstamp are good but slow, then BTC-e and Mt. Gox all sound like they're on shaky ground. Add in all sites that have been hacked or scams and it's a huge opportunity for the first reputable business to sweep in!

This is good to hear. I like where your heads at bc It's up to us to get bitcoin adopted.

I can do front end development and have a business degree and am also looking for like minded people to work with.

Bitcoin credit card with qr stamp on it. That would be pretty cool IMO.

Tributary, would you be willing to collaborate on a bitcoin project? How much time do you have to devote to BTC projects?

Wow. I thought of most of the ideas but Life Insurance is a very interesting idea. I dont think it will work though, because BTC price changes constantly.

I don't think I'm ready to commit to a project yet - I'm still researching the Bitcoin universe Wink

I have had 2 ideas.

The first is an escrow service for btc, but more like paypal, where it is mostly automated.

The other is a reverse atm.  You insert cash into a bill scanner like on a soda machine and it will instantly give you btc, again automated.

How about this idea? Smiley
btc/altcoins/fiat exchange dedicated for automatic high frequency trading.
This means to develop very convenient exchange API (support collocation service), history simulator(probably open source), and make all historical data(that should be as complete and time precise as possible) free and easily available.
