I am posting here, because as I am noob there is no much way of posting anywhere else.

So, in fact I apologize for this not being the most appropriate area of the forums, but there was no choice and I understand why you use such policy.

My question is regarding the miner named as cgminer3.7.2 (the lastest used in coin-pool.com).
I have access to multiple computers in a network that is under an authenticated http proxy.

I know that there is support in the referred program for working under such circumstances as in their help you might read:

Single pool with a standard http proxy, regular desktop:

cgminer -o "http:proxy:port|http://pool:port" -u username -p password

Single pool with a socks5 proxy, regular desktop:

cgminer -o "socks5:proxy:port|http://pool:port" -u username -p password

But I couldn't really understand how I should use the program, for example if I where using ubuntu I would have to do this: (an example of usage of the proxy)

sudo http_proxy="http://MYPROXYUSERNAME:MYPROXYPASSWORD@10.20.10.50:3128" apt-get install #something

Note that despite of that all version in that network of ubuntu are 11.10 and as so its quite hard to configure it. And as all those machines also have windows (under the same proxy) I want to configure it inside the cgminer

My apologies if this is a stupid question.
