You're mining BTC with a GPU??  Bro stop, mine a scrypt coin and flip them to BTC you will make 10 times the amount of BTC that way...

Scrypt coin is a different kind of crypto currency thats main focus is a different protocol. It hashes differently (If I'm thinking right its more complex than bitcoins sha256) Litecoin is the most known scrypt crypto currency, and its also much easier to mine using a GPU. Litecoin has a good conversion rate to Bitcoin so you make bitcoin faster that way.

Dude don't mine on your CPU, you will mine like 42 cents a year on it at this difficulty (if you don't fry it first!)

Yeh mate do some research first before spending days with a loud PC chewing through power to no avail.

The 290X will mine LiteCoin pretty well and apparently the pay-back is quite good at the moment if you're not paying through the nose for power
