Litecoin almost reached $50.
That's pretty crazy for any alt.
right now I look at it as super cheap and that there's no harm in buying some and enjoying the ride. For me it's BTC and LTC mainly.
There are those that also strongly believe in LTC over other alts and some who don't.
It's your call.

I always played on betcoin.tm in Bitcoin and it turns out that since last week or so they also accept Litecoin (and looks like DogeCoin as well).
since i DO believe in Litecoin i had some spare going to the casino. Was not bad

Just take a look at the daily trading volumes. BTC averages 8-9 million USD per day, LTC is around 2-2.5 million USD per day. Other alts can do a couple of hundred thousand bucks volume on a good day (read: when they are being pumped).

So to sum it up, LTC has a huge daily volume and has been having it for some time now, it has been around for 3 years, the second crypto invented. And right now the price is basically at an all time low. Around $3.7 - this is as cheap as it gets, I remember this spring , you were lucky if you could get one LTC under $20, and the ATH is $50, there is a strong community of supporters and LTC is not going anyway. It is the only legit alt - I wouldn't even call it an alt. BTC and LTC are a category for itself.
