We know, that every transaction goes into the blockchain and to use cryptocurrencies someone has to have the whole blockchain downloaded. Beside the fact that this are enormous amounts of data (so in the future there will be online-wallets only) there is another thing, which could be problematic:
So everyone who is interacting with the Cryptocoin Network of choice has to maintain a steady transfer and download of transactions. Are there any calculations on overall possible transaction-quantity?
Assumed that the world will decide to use a cryptocoin as world-wide-accepted-currency there would be a VAST amount of transactions per day. Billions over Billions. How much transactions per day would the system be capable of? Would we need a Level 3 Backbone?
In which speed a blockchain will rise in word-currency-conditions? several GB per hour?
