Need help with creating alt coin for fun purposes - Small Bounty

I need some help creating an alt coin for fun. I've been following the devtome.com guide: http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=scrypt_altcoin_cloning_guide&#how_to_clone_scrypt_based_altcoins_for_fun_and_profit and building it on Windows: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=149479.0

I'm successfully able to get the Merkle hash / root but is unable to compile a version of the client so as to mine the genesis block / retrieve the block. So any help regarding this would be greatly appreciated, and I'm willing to pay a small token for your time in helping me. Perhaps 0.02 BTC or so.
