Keeping a coin in a purse or a cold wallet is not a new thing. Instead of saving on an online wallet located at a certain site, coin investors can take it and put in a wallet like USB and keep the outside, do not worry about being scammed online or hacked. clean up the coin. No matter how hard your wallet is, you can still recover the amount of coin that is contained in it.

Choosing a hard wallet is one of the safest ways that a professional coin investor uses to hoard his coin. However, a few days ago a hard-liner user posted an article on the Reddit forum about a lost case when storing a Ledger wallet.
" I have not used my Ledger purse for a week now. Today, I decided to check XRP, Litecoin and Dash numbers in my purse and I only saw the zeros and they were delivered to someone the day before at 7:30 pm. I do not know how this can happen because I have not been to Ledger for a week. The value of my loss is over £ 25,000 (over 750 million). Is this number lost or something else? Now I want to be sick. Who helps with Sad "

What should I believe?

Ledger is not the one that should be blamed for this. The victim's Ledger wallet got compromised by using the seed on the scratch card which was printed by the ebay seller. If he bought the Ledger from the site this might not happen but then again he didn't know that he could reset the seed. This was a good read even though I don't own a Ledger wallet it'll help me in the future once I have my own.

For those who can't find the reddit thread here's the link :

Ledger released a statement about this. It had nothing to do with Ledger device being hacked or faulty, and everything to do with the user. He bought a pre-initialized device and didn't follow the instructions to set up his own seed. A tragedy for him, but not Ledger's fault.
