A ton of cryptocoins are coming out each week, so if I am not a programmer:

How can i foind out, if a coin/wallet-software will not harm my PC/me?

For example: I just downloaded the Doge-software. My Windows 8 tells me not to run it, it "seems to be dangerous". If it would be a risk, i assume, I would read it in the Doge-topic?

It's just an example, so please don't focus on the DOGe thing, I would like to get a general advice, where to find data about trusted or dangerous wallet software.

Thanks a lot

Always see the response of general people if a new alt coin or its wallet shows up.

Give it a virus scan with Malwarebytes before extracting or check on VirusTotal.

P.S - I'm using DOGe wallet, from last one week, much good shibe no problem  Smiley

Search forums thoroughly for scams. It will always be your own judgment if you have safe software or not.

It could be dangerous downloading all these new coin wallets as they can contain keyloggers and trojans etc. Best bet is to wait and see if anybody else has problems. But if you must download it, do so from a trusted source such as the official site or whatever, but this by no means makes it safe. You could always run the untrusted clients on another computer of run them on linux etc.

So you say, there is no "organized" topic on this forum and/or no trusted website that collects this kind of information?
