Was reading this article about the use of telegram groups during ICOs.

What are everyone's thoughts on the usefulness and value provided by joining telegram groups for projects doing ICOs?

It seems most telegram groups are grown by purchasing followers but it's still considered an important metric in evaluating the success of an ICO. Which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.
