[SAFETY] - Protect yourself from scammers in Telegram channels

I decided to write this after a conversation I read on a telegram channel.

A) Fake admins:

When you follow an ICO on a Telegram it is very likely that you will receive a personal message by an "Admin" telling you that "you can buy with a special discount" nor that "you have a limited offer telegram only", etc... IT IS ALWAYS A SCAM

Campaign admins or any other personnel will never approach you directly to ask for personal information or ether to be sent. Don´t even give them your email, you will be phised or your email, if connected to PayPal, will be used to buy services in your name.

I recently read a conversation on a channel. Actually and admin is telling a user that he/she is safe after giving email and ID as long as ether was not sent. Wrong!

B) Fake channels:

An example: true channel AsuraCoin, fake channel AsuraCoins. Trust only the links on the official page, you may end up scammed and it is sad to see users asking for their tokens after sending ether to a hacker.

You’re totally right about the need to be extremely cautious when approached in telegram groups by means of personal messages from alleged Admins or else. I’ve seen this happen in many ICOs around the time of the actual ICO kickoff event. That is not the only time to be wary, but it is definitively a moment of nervousness (specially on hyped ICOs), where one’s eagerness to get into the ICO makes people drop their defences and follow easy PM guidance from fake admins.

On various occasions I have even witnessed a take over of the telegram group by hackers, changing the pinned participation rules, and changing the ETH contribution address, with the subsequent scam to early eager contributors. It is very important to read the ICO participation process rules and to be wary of any slight change on the ICO rollout that differs from the original set rules.

The first rule is always to use common sense. Nobody will send you money for free. Internet offers so much opportunities but if you don't put the right attention and do your homework, you can loose you money. It's plenty of scammers and hackers.

there is one guy name Gary. he first asked if im crypto trader. then he said he is crypto miner who works with Antpool and says i coul earn 0,08 btc weekly, all i need is mining wallet and send him my email address and he will send me mining address on email. and then to invest i think 0,04 btc, idk. so yeah..

Many times is not as obvious as "send me yer money nowthhh", the channels appear authentic, people are eager to invest and many times complete newbies. I think that I had to make this post so at least some new members will read it.

This very true...and a crucial thing to watch out for, I have seen it played about almost every telegram group and channels I have joined, most especially as I usually copied the ID and search it in the telegram clients' search box.

Btw, scammers most often played on the ignorance and greed of people. If you are going to do anything, please take some time and effort to educate yourself deeper about it, also watch your greed; if it look too good to be true it's probably is.

The people who get scammed must be a newbie user who just joined the ICOs well, they are legit target for scammers. I won't do invest without see on the web first, the telegram it's just a sign for updates.
i said twice this words "don't trust other people here".
