I recently got a Radeon graphics card free of cost

so I was using it for mining the alts; for testing I took up some low difficulty coins.
I was mining with CPU miner on side and bfgminer on the other. Even though bfgminer is like 9 to 10 times faster than CPU miner (as per it's hash rate), I've yet to find a single block. The CPU miner on the other hand has got like 20 blocks for the coin. BFGminer says there're no accepted or rejected block.
Both CPUminer and BFGminer were running at the same time.
One thing I've noticed -- I tend to generate hardware errors, their rate being roughly equal to the rate at which new blocks should be solved.
