Why is everyone so interested in Satoshi is all of sudden?  We don't know who / what he is. Give it a rest guys, please. Asking on a forum isn't going to get you an answer, just dozens of theories, none of which are probably true.

Satoshi was not a woman.  But his mother was.  She threw away his two computer with all of his bitcoins on them shortly after he died.

i get that people are curious and wonder who satoshi is, but why so much speculation and all? he doesn't want to be known publicly, so just leave it at that. there's probably nothing to be gained by finding out who he is.

I've never understood why there is so much hype around who Satoshi is, if he wanted everyone to know then we would know. It simply doesn't matter.

Because we don't know "he's" a "he" at all

If Satoshi is in reality some kind of NSA or CIA type organization, then I don't want to be supporting it Smiley

who care who he is. the code speaks for its self. if he does work for the government than grats to them for getting something right for once. i always argue that the government doesnt deserve any money because it doesnt produce anything of value. well if they did actually produce something of value than i would be ok with them profiting. if bitcoin was produced by them than im ok with them making money off of bitcoin, its a totally different dynamic than taxation.

If one can not confer upon another a right which he does not himself first possess, by what means does the state derive the right to engage in behaviors from which the public is prohibited?

Personal question:  Why is this an issue for you?  Does it really matter?  Just curious.

People post Satoshi threads all the time.  Why is that an issue for you?  Does it really matter?  Just curious.

I think if Satoshi would want to come out, "it" would have a very hard time convincing people that "it" is the right one. Maybe the computer crashed and no evidence exists any more. Probably we never find out..

What if I'm Satoshi, would you believe me?

Satoshi is the moniker used by a group of people who worked within a small, tight knit community. Certainly there are a few people who know true identities, but it's in their best interest to not speak out yet. Think about it... right now, most people only know a little about bitcoin or nothing at all. If the bulls are right and bitcoin becomes a major currency, competing with the likes of paypal and credit cards, a book deal or other projects could net a lot of money for those Satoshi insiders. So obviously, they're just waiting for the right time.

Night gathers, and now my bitcoinwisdom watch begins.

IIRC, Satoshi never used the same IP address twice.

I think I may know who ... at least, I know someone who could have written the code (in terms of expertise) and had a good reason to, and who would have, for very good reasons having nothing to do with Bitcoin, disappeared from active development at about the same time as Satoshi did, and who has enough money that he wouldn't need to spend all those coins that Satoshi mined just the same way Satoshi hasn't.

But, y'know, that isn't proof.   Wink  It's all circumstantial.  And I won't name names, because I respect the guy (whether he is or isn't who I think) and he didn't want his name known.

And besides, even if I'm right, nobody's really gonna know until his will is read, and that's more or less as it should be.

We should respect his privacy and leave him alone. There is nothing wrong if he wants to stay anonymous.
