We need more tools built for larger amounts of people before bitcoin is ready for "mainstream."  However, there are plenty of people working on it.

2012 was a great building year.  I hope for 2014 to be another great building year.

The questio is will people be building for bitcoin, PPC, LTC or many coins?  Or others?

Time will tell!
