Hi, I did not have this exact issue so I don't know how helpful this might be, but since nobody else has posted, I will do the best I can. I saw a post on the Catcoin forum saying you have to download libwinpthreda-1.dll (if you are using the Windows QT client), at least as of the time I downloaded the QT client. I think they have subsequently posted a newer version, so you may want to check if they have posted a newer version of the client since the time you downloaded yours. You may also want to try setting up a fresh environment (maybe set up a virtual machine), and install it there, just to rule out issues with some pre-existing software. I think setting up each coin wallet in a separate environment is good security practice anyway, just in case you end up with a wallet stealing program, so there is nothing to be stolen.
