I swear to Jeebus, I saw someone either commenting on, or noting ideas on, how to overoverclock a Cube. Well, then again, I could have dreamed it....

Does anyone know a thread or source for such a thing? I've searched up and down, but needless to say, nearly every Cube thread mentions overclocking almost as often as it mentions the Cube.

Any thoughts? And thank you!

Wink  You weren't wrong.  A user here who's had great success with overclocking kits for blades was working on something similar to overclock the cubes, but last I heard he was only getting another 1.5-2GH/s out of each cube (up to just under 40 GH/s) due to heat issues in the cramped cubes.  His method for the blades was pretty elegant - just change out some feedback resistors so that the BE100 chips get more voltage, swap out the oscillator for a higher rate, and improve cooling.  I imagine it's something similar for the cubes.  FWIW, I got two of my v2 blades crunching happily at 14 GH/s with his kits, and they're still going strong.

Anyway, drop sidehack a note/PM here and I'm sure he'll update his progress for you.

Best and Happy New Year!

Thanks Tye!

Was it a lot of work? Meaning, could a guy with a ball peen hammer and a chisel get it done in an afternoon, do you think?
