I have downloaded Litecoin-QT, waited it to sync with the network, and tested some mining with CGminer & P2Pool. Even that I mined few hours with about 1400kh/s yesterday, I don't still see anything on my wallet. And, I also tried to search for for the wallet.dat- file from my Linux, but there isn't such file anywhere in the system.

I thought that this wallet.dat is generated automatically when client is started, but isn't it so?? What should I do to generate a wallet, and get my Litecoins from P2Pool to it? I have checked many times that the username (=wallet address) in the CGminer's configuration file is correct.

~/.litecoin/wallet.dat

~/.litecoin/wallet.dat or /home/{username}/.litecoin/wallet.dat
maybe try a pool other than p2pool

Just can't find it... Huh

Litecoin-qt that I launch is located on the directory 'Home\Downloads\litecoin-0.8.6.1-linux\bin\64', and only other file in that directory is 'litecoind'. And even search can't find the wallet from anywhere in the system, but litecoin-qt *seems* to work just fine anyway and there's a wallet address in it. Except that it won't show any coins...

get to a shell and run the command

Code:
cd / | find . | grep -i wallet.dat

it'll search your entire filesystem for it

Ok, it says that it is in './.litecoin'! For some reason Ubuntu's search did not find it at all...

Why it is not in the directory where I extracted the litecoin-qt, and where I started the client from? And how come it did not receive any litecoins, even though CGminer stated many accepted blocks during the few hours?? How long time it will take?

its a hidden folder (.litecoin), you can use ctrl+h to unhide.

Its the same difficulty for windows, if that's any consolation. Windows is even more tricky to find, %appdata% folder. Why? someone more clever than me has their reasons.

tested some mining with CGminer & P2Pool.
Check the stats page for the coin you are attempting to mine at p2pool and search for your username (the address), you can see graphs showing your input (if any).

for example http://p2pool.org:9332/static/graphs.html?Day shows all the current BTC miners that are submitting shares, shown on a pretty graph.

Thank you Colin Miner!

My account is actually listed on the Litecoin graphs page, but it is empty i.e. there isn't any lines or peaks on the it. What does this mean? Isn't few hours enough to get some results or what..?

You should see something in a few hours, but if you don't then there could be a misconfiguration with your cgminer.conf

What hardware are you using to mine (GPU), which version of cgminer and what's in your cgminer.conf / command line ?

Still nothing, even though I mined yesterday. And still that graph in the P2Pool shows no activity at all.

I have 2 * Asus R9 290, CGMiner 3.7.2, and commanline is:

del scrypt*.bin
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer.exe -o http://p2pool.org:9327 -u LaZRjy3NEps9mfY1WG3eriYgSQrqUNeBvK  -p Anything --scrypt -w 512 --failover-only --thread-concurrency 20480 --gpu-threads 1 -I 18

No config file.

you are not submitting shares consistently. There is only a little bit of work going on there. Not enough to get paid.

And this what CGMiner says:
[D]isplay options in CGMiner can give you more information by switching on verbose and all those other useful error messages.

This looks ok to me.... (I don't see any obvious problems)

What exactly do those charts mean??

The blue bars in the top graph shows the mining hash rate (vertical axis) over time (24hours on horizontal axis).

The red bars are wasted shares, stale ones that don't count for anything.

The bottom graph, which is currently empty shows the quantity of coins earned (vertical axis) over time (24hours on horizontal axis).

from this you can see your miner shares are getting through and recorded by p2pool, and the payment you are generating.
