Coin popularity stats

Anyone know any sites that show the number of miners, transactions, etc. for coin popularity? This would very much help picking what to mine and buy. Please excuse my coinnewbism but google didn't show much anything. I do look at coinwarz and coinchoose but it would be interesting to see the number of actual people and trends as opposed to the pure volume of hashing.
