To many ANN cluttering up the main alternate cryptocurrency board.  I suggest creating a sub board for ANN's so actual discussions about the topic of alternate cryptocurrencies or a particular coins aren't aren't overshadowed by the stream of daily shitcoins, new pool, exchanges ect... advertising themselves all the time.

An Announcment sub-forum would keep things better organized in my opinion keep the parent forum clutter free.

Yes, we do need an sub forum for ANN, imo it's pretty much impossible to have a real discussion about alts without the thread being crushed back into page 10 in 5 minutes.

Bitcointalk advocates Bitcoins only for mindless reasons. IT doesn't believe in superior technology, it just sticks with the legacy.

How is it mindless?  This is BITCOINtalk after all.  Sorry it seems so biased to you.

How many kids in the alt sub-forum misuse tags anyways?  There are forums like cryptocointalk that are purpose built for your favorite alts.

I miss the days when there was actually some interesting discussion about ideas here.

Please set up a coin launching section so I can write a scrypt that will automatically download/compile from the git listed and start mining it. That way I can get in on every single coin launch. rofl.

Also, preferably the announcement forum should be used exclusively for the announcement of new currencies and not giveaways, pools etc.

Edit: I'm an idiot. I just noticed they're up!
