Aurecoin is a very small and new startup recently launched in Sydney, Australia, to develop a new concept of altcoin. Aurecoins will be privately issued physical coins, secured using blockchain and the mathematics of cryptocurrency. Each coin will carry gold to give it value, a chip capable of providing a digital signature, and security features to make it plain if the coin has been tampered with.
Aurecoin's aim is to make the coins extremely hard (and eventually impossible) to tamper with, so that the holder of an Aurecoin can be confident that they have in their hand the amount of gold which corresponds to the coin's denomination. We also aim to make the coins as easy as possible for anyone to transact with easily accessible equipment like a cheap RFID reader or a smartphone, and an internet connection.
Our vision is for Aurecoin to become a preferred alternative currency worldwide.
