Hi fellow bitcoiners,

Can't believe this is my first post on the forum, seeing it has been a year since I first discovered The Light through a local financial newspaper. Like most of you, I immediately was mesmerized by the concept and spent the following weeks studying everything there was to know about Bitcoin. I was basically living and breathing Bitcoin for the next few months. I went to many Bitcoin meetups, organized a local exchange meetup, built a Litecoin rig with two 7950 GPUs and am now looking to start a Bitcoin Academy - a physical place where people can come learn about cryptocurrencies - in the open source spirit.

This last year of intense Bitcoin study has led me to conclude that Bitcoin is only the first of a wave of decentralized apps that are likely to revolutionize the way we interact. These are applications that we can expect to see in the following years:
Decentralized:
- exchanges for digital assets
- notary ledgers
- marketplaces
- social networks

I'm looking forward to 2014, a huge year for BTC.

Cheers,
David.
