Finally someplace to post! How do you get access to other areas?

When I joined it was 5 posts + 4 hours to gain access to the other areas but it sounds like you've already done the 4 hours part. Yes, newbie restrictions can be quite annoying, try visiting digitalcoindiscussion.com, we don't have any newbie restrictions there.

Phew that was an awkward way to find out how to get out of noobland. Nothing in help at all about restrictions then wouldn't accept my 1st post to saying i had already posted from my IP

You have to reach a certain number of posts before you can post on other sections of the forum.

It's a general issue with bitcoin at the moment.

Until we are prepared to let the broader community in, bitcoin will continue to struggle with perceptions it's a gated community.

While I understand some people prefer "high level" discussions, why not create a board for them and just let everyone else participate as they see fit?
