Hey ValueAccounts! May I ask what is an escrow? I'm new to this forum and bitcoin and I want to buy some bitcoin in the market place.
It's an independent and trusted third party (the "escrower") in a deal. For example, if you (the "buyer) want to buy some bitcoins by wiring USD to someone, the other party (the "seller") could betray you by not delivering the coins after the money was received. So you want the seller to first deliver the bitcoins to the escrower who will signal you that he has received them. Then you will wire the money, because the bitcoins are safely held by the escrower. Upon reception of the money, the seller will signal the escrower, who will release the bitcoins to you. Even if you think you know the guy who you are trading with, his account could have been hacked! Escrow secures your money even in that case. |

Any other tips ? I just started today Download a wallet and starts with faucets. Faucets are websites which gives you small amounts of Bitcoins for looking to adds on that site. You don't have to do anything with the adds. Fill in your Bitcoin adress and do the captcha to prove that you are an human being and push the button "get reward" or similar. Don't think you become rich of the faucets. |

This useful for newbie like me, thanks for the information Never download a wallet by a link in this forum which was posted by a random guy. Could contain a keylogger!
Be sure to download from the official coin developer's account (which should be "full member" or above). Use virustotal.com before unpacking the wallet files.
