I generally really enjoy hearing Trace speaking, but that was a very fuzzy explanation.  I would not have understood it either.

Didn't think Trace's explanation was any good.  For people like Schiff (and me to a lesser extent), the basics need to be described in a clearer manner - telling schiff that there are so many blocks means zero.  The very basics are not that complicated, but it can sound complicated if not explained properly.  Bottom line is that people will not put money into something that they cannot understand.

You just can't explain bitcoin like that.  Not seriously I mean.

Schiff just has to read Satoshi's paper if he really wants to "get" bitcoin.  There's no real way around it.   All other methods of explaining bitcoin are basically wave-handing.

A man as ignorant as Peter Schiff will never read the original Satoshi paper.
He will always find an excuse not doing so, e.g. telling himself it is not worth his time. While in reality, he is just too dumb to understand it.

Just take a close look at the video. First he is clearly not interested in the subject at all, checking his mobile while "listening" to Trace Mayer.
Then he fakes some interest for 5 seconds. Then his face goes blank instantly when he is forced to actually think about what Trace says.

Schiff does not have the faintest clue how unbelievable stupid he looks when debating Bitcoin.
Thanks god, Bitcoin does not need people like Peter Schiff the same way as Peter Schiff does not need Bitcoin.

I don't think so. Most gold bugs are simply trapped in their own simplistic ideology, it does not allow them to look beyond.

Sad to see this dinosaur thrashing around the tar pit in his death throes. Time to retire, Mr.Schiff. I mean really, after all this time he has not take the time to research Bitcoin basics?

That particular part of the clip was after the 15 minute discussion and near the end of the second discussion in the afternoon. Before that clip I asked if Mr. Schiff would like to ask me questions and be recorded for the benefit of many listeners and readers but he responded, "I do not want you to make me look like a fool." Unfortunately, someone surreptitiously recorded our exchange and then posted it without my consent.

In total, I spent about 30 minutes teaching Peter Schiff about Bitcoin at that investment conference in February 2013. He got to ask as many questions and get as thorough and in-depth explanations as he wanted.

As we are seeing, wealth is flowing to the people who deserve it according to the decisions of the market.

So far I think Ron Paul has yet again been the only one to prove himself in the Libertarian circle to really be open minded and rational when it comes to anything he comes into contact with, it's a shame really because Peter Schiff is normally pretty good at what he does, I don't know why he acts like this because in his debate with Stefan Molyneux he was actually really good, I think he's got a case of the old man syndrome.
