Agreed. For someone or some group to make millions while not really contributing to anything, he certainly does take the cake.
Bitcoin either has value or it doesn't. If he hasn't contributed anything, he hasn't made millions. But he has, so he has. What exactly is the contribution he's made. I wish bitcoin was centralized right now so we can take your bitcoin away. See this is exactly why I hate mainstream, keep Satoshi alive in spirit! PLEASE. I know, I know, the masses.... Its called the blockchain, useizeable wallet / wealth, no counter party risk, distributed opt in, store of value, multi sig all open source.

This is very valid point ... it is now possible for a single idea, implementation to completely change the world and upend the reigning power structures ... and it could happen anytime again in the future. No more can the incumbents feel so comfortable that better idea/technology is only one good coding away from tossing them into the biin of history.
Satoshi makes Zuckerberg and Gates look like pikers, imho. Social networks? OS? meh ... let's overhaul money.

Here's another fun thought... Satoshi is not the only person to do something like this... only the first. Peer to peer, encrypted systems can and will change everything... and some early adopter nerd types just got bankrolled by playing with Bitcoin a few years ago. They can retire and do fun projects now, inspired by Satoshi's breakthrough. Bitcoin is the tip of the iceberg, but the very best thing to happen first along these lines.
I concur. What Satoshi has done is create a morpho-genetic field on how to allow to crowd-source the middle-man. Its like breaking the 4 min mile barrier. Once it was done, then a lot of people started doing it. Bitcoin was that effort that broke through a barrier, but it learnt from everything before it that didn't. And now, the innovation is on the side of open systems that are in the best interest of people rather than the middle-men. The creators of MasterCoin, PeerCoin and NXTcoin have all done just that. Without going to any venture capitalist, old money hoarder, they have created wealth and systems that benefit humanity in huge ways yet provide immense wealth for the creators too.

To me Satoshi is #2 after Tesla but right up there! If there is 1 thing that gives us great hope is killing the evil that central banks are they are the source of most of the misery on this planet and Satoshi found a way to start chipping away at them! Tesla tried to give us free energy, and if he had computers and the internet back then I'm sure he would by for decentralized money!

He could have sold private keys contractually with a wait agreement. Nobody has proof that Satoshi's original coins are still under his control, as such they may well be under somebody else's.

He will wait until there is a platform that you can move bitcoin without being traced, before he take them out and spend. Or he probably is currently developing one right now.

He is obviously super intelligent and would have no problem earning a high salary in nearly any field of his choice.
So, Satoshi doesnt need his Bitcoins. Hes already very well off and being highly intelligent and fairly nerdy, probably not of the lambo-yacht buying breed.
My guess is he will use his Bitcoins to help humanity, by giving them to charities. Basically like Bill gates, but anonymous. He is a modern day superhero.

Well the invention of bitcoin has allowed a number of speculators people to profit from save millions of dollars through almost free transactions. If you don't want to call the a major contribution then I'm not sure what to tell you.
That, corrected for you.
