I'm very long on BTC - I plan on dieing with at least some bitcoins in wallets.  That being said:  How can you stay on the cutting edge of where the price is headed?  I like to make purchases consistently in small amounts - especially during the dips and sell some occasionally to take a little profit.  If I wake up to a fallen BTC price, where can I go first to see what caused it?

We'd all like to be able to predict where the price is headed. But generally speaking you can't. You might try a paid service to "do the work for you", something like bitcoinbulllbear does a good job.

Many places to get bitcoin news. Personally I just use a twitter feed.

I have not been on twitter for a few years, so I'm sorry to say I'm not sure I understand you.  Are there particullarly useful people or organizations that I can "follow" who update regularly on what is happening with the price of BTC?  I'm willing to give Twitter a try if it will help me to keep current on BTC price knowledge.

If you don't want to mess with twitter, reddit.com/r/bitcoin is just as good for bitcoin news.

That said, if you trade based on news you will be part of the crowd that successful traders make their money from.  You might get lucky and be the first to see the news, and you could get lucky again and guess the resulting price action correctly, and then get lucky again and close your trade at the right time.  But most of the time, you will be lost in the scramble.

Trading can be done profitably, but it isn't as easy as parsing news events and picking a direction.

If anyone could predict the price with any reasonable accuracy, do you think they would say how they do it? I sure as hell wouldn't.

Yeah, just follow a few key bitcoin news providers on twitter ...... such as CoinDesk, Bitcoin Reporter and this very forum, and you have all the latest news as it comes out. Sure other people can suggest other bitcoin news providers worth following Smiley
