When someone deposits $1 into the bank accounts of tether, one USDT will be created and sent to the USDT address of the person who send the dollar.

Most frequently someone will deposit $1 into their Bitfinex account, either by wiring $1 to Bitfinex or depositing $1 worth of bitcoin and subsequently selling it, and withdrawing one USDT from Bitfinex; when Bitfinex runs out of USDT to send to customers, they will buy USDT from tether in sufficient amount to cover withdrawal requests.

They claim they have every tether backed by one dollar, which has raised a lot of controversy, some people claim they dont have all tethers backed with cash. As for me i dont know what to think, they have never been audited...

The periodicity of no one can say but about the regulation, if I am not mistaken then they are not regulated but they were checked, and everything was fine. No machinations found

I don't know why people are always concern about new Tether being mint. I still believe in Tether more than any recently created stable coin. Tether has money in bank to back up their claims, though we don't know the real figured but they certainly do, I don't think any of these new stable coins are backed with real fiat.

A few days ago Binance added a very curious pair USDT/USD.
And Binance isn’t the only exchange to do so—Kraken also has USD/USDT trades and margin shorts.
Bittrex recently launched USD/TUSD and USD/USDT pairings.

By adding the Dollar/Dollar pairing, Binance has made it possible to hedge against the integrity of Tether and Bitfinex.
