Let's be clear, this was forced on the banks by the government, though the interchange fee controversy made very little news as it was happening last year. I am not surprised that the banks are trying to do SOMETHING, though what's going to happen is that people (like yourself) are going to mistakenly blame the banks, when they should blame the government and the Federal Reserve.

I know it's because of the Dodd regulations but still I think it's a pretty bad move unless Chase can convince all other banks to do the same.
