Well the saying goes buy low sell high. You could wait for LTC to rise but BTC will probably also rise. Why don't you just keep ahold of that 1 LTC and hodl it?

trading is fun to me lol. i only spent like $25 on my litecoin and i want to see if i can make a profit. if i lose its then ill try again i guess but if i bought 1.076 LTC @ 0.03344 a while back would it be best to just wait until the price gets back up there before i buy back into btc?

When you see it begin to fall in price (red candles) sell it off and buy back at the bottom of the dip (the point where it begins to rise back up in price). Some have cash on hand to buy at the low price, otherwise you have to guess when to sell your coins for funds.

I've sold before only to have the price go up, and I lose coins in the buyback. I've also sold and the price continued to go down and made a profit.

Hi.

Simple Answer: To get profit, just buy low and sell high.

But there is no 100% successful strategy, and it is not easy to really predict the short-term price movement in future.
You can find a lot of info and different kind of predictions / strategies here.
